Style Origin is an annual fashion festival that continues to enthrall fashion devotees year after year since it was launched, as it sets the stage on the country’s style scene, turning the spotlight on select heritage fashion labels as well as upcoming names in the industry, among other surprises.

This year was no exception as the much awaited Style Origin of Ayala Malls was taken to a whole new level with MAS! More Music, Art and Style. The runway showcase kicked off in Greenbelt last June 5 and toured the rest of the Ayala Malls in the country, including Ayala Center Cebu which was staged last June 23, Saturday at The Terraces.

The fashion fête started with a dance number by the University of San Carlos Dance Club. Local DJs provided feel good electronic dance beats as well as Deuce Manila DJ Patty Tiu. Music also took center stage as performers Kurt Fick and 2B Boys serenaded the crowd, while art was highlighted by a live art demonstration by Blanche X Diane of the University of San Carlos’ School of Fine Arts and Design.

The fashion show presented eye-catching and trendy outfits for different occasions, from casual vibes, tailored looks and evening ensembles.

All eyes were fixed on the show as together with style influencers Janina Manipol, Jessica Yang, Tola Orendain, Daniel Diniz, Iago Faria, Daniel Velasco, Raphael Robes, Carlo Gonzales, Ulrike Reinbold, and Hans Weiser, over 140 Cebuano community models walked the runway wearing the inspiring collections from brands like All Flip Flops, American Tourister, Delsey, Etam, Girbaud, Herschel, Janilyn, Keds, Ladybag, Metro Gaisano, Parfois, Promod, Samsonite, Skechers, and Sperry Topsider. Other brands featured included Rustan’s, Marks and Spencer, Gingersnaps, Karimadon, Gap and Mango, to name a few. (SUN STAR CEBU)
