"Live to Move"

Monday, May 2, 2016

CEBU, Philippines - Living a healthy lifestyle shall be everyone's passion. But it shall come in an easy, way without guilt and pressure. It does not have to require too much effort, either.

For instance, even moderate exercises could have amazing results, so long as it is done regularly and consistently. It also has to be fun and enjoyable. This is the message of FWD, a healthy lifestyle advocacy that recently visited Cebu as part of its nationwide campaign.

The diet component of healthy living is also emphasized. Medical doctors Maria Rosan Trani, internest-cardiologist, and Alex Junia, Philippine Heart Association president, recommends the so-called 52100 guide. It is a simple reminder of the essentials of good health, with each number representing a daily target: 5 servings of fruits and vegetables, 2 hours maximum recreational screen time, 1 hour of moderate activity, zero sugared drinks, and zero smoking/second-hand smoke.

FWD started in the Philippines in September 2014, with the vision to change the people's view on fitness and endurance. Renowned fitness coaches Jim and Tony Saret are its prime movers. The whole concept is a combination of meta-fit exercise and music. The fun workout guarantees to burn at least 2,000 in the participant.

Cebuanos sampled the FWD workouts during the "Live to Move" event at The Terraces, Ayala Center Cebu. There were four stations with different fitness activities - hybrid workouts for four minutes in every station.

"Live to Move" had also been to Cagayan de Oro City. From Cebu, it is going to Baguio City next, in May, before going back in June to Bonifacio Global City in Manila, where the head office of  FWD Life Insurance is. (FREEMAN)
