THIRSTY SETS SUMMER RUN

Thursday, March 9, 2017

Thirsty Fresh Fruit Juices and Shakes will bring a different kind of fun run this summer—the Thirsty Summer Run, which is slated on March 26 at the Terraces Ayala Center Cebu.

The run, which is open to all ages, will bring out the fun this summer on a healthy way. The runners will have three categories to choose from—the men’s and women’s 3-kilometer, 6K and 12K.

“This event is really to continue our healthy habits, our commitment to the healthy way and to promote more healthy habits in the community,” said Bunny Pages, the chairman and chief executive officer of Pages Holdings Inc., during the press conference yesterday.

What make this different from the other runs? The participants will only purchase any Thirsty and Fruitfull large drink or shakes and add P50 and you’re already registered for the run.

“This is different from the regular fun runs, this event is really inexpensive. It’s easy on the pocket for the runners. The runners will be given the race bib right away after their registration on the outlet,” said John Pages, the vice-president of Pages Holdings Inc.

The registered runners will receive a race bib that comes with a free raffle entry and free Thirsty lemonade drink after the race. There will be no cash prizes for the top runners, but all the participants will get the chance to win one of over 100 items to be raffled away.

Some of the items to be raffled are items from New Balance, such as cinch bags, headbands, wristbands and Thirsty and Mooon Cafe gift certificates.

“The tagline of Thirsty is “The Healthy Way” and organizing this event is part of the thrust of the company which is to promote healthy and active lifestyle. I think this run will be an annual event for us,” John said.

“Apart from football and running, Thirsty has also organized sporting events that involve basketball, tennis and badminton,” he added.

Race director Joel Juarez of Coco Running said that they’re targeting 2,000 participants for the inaugural race. The course will be within Cebu Business Park. To keep runners dehydrated, four water stations will be put up along the route. The fun run will start at 6 a.m.

Entry forms are available from all Thirsty and Fruitfull outlets in Cebu. Slots are limited and registration will be until March 24. (SUN STAR CEBU)
